WDBJ7’s Star City Slide is a fundraiser benefitting the Downtown Roanoke Ambassadors. In order to make the event a success, we need dedicated volunteers! Roles include check in assistants, slide monitors, tickets sellers, tube station attendants, and more.

Submit Your Events & Specials 📆 

With over 150 businesses to promote, sometimes we miss downtown happenings. Help us ensure we don’t miss a single one of your events or specials. We've created a PDF to explain how your business can upload your specials and events to our website. We use these submissions to help develop our monthly social media schedule and public-facing newsletter with over 14,000 subscribers! Right now, we’re scheduling posts approximately 2 weeks in advance, so don’t wait!

Please note: Our office will be closed Tuesday-Friday next week, so the newsletter will be completed over a week in advance.

The annual Star City Motor Madness returns to Downtown Roanoke on Saturday, June 28th. Join the Virginia Museum of Transportation for the fun car show! Don’t forget to review the street closure information and make a plan!

Check out national championship mountain biking at Elmwood Park! The USA Cycling Endurance Mountain Bike National Championships will take place July 14-20 in Roanoke, including the short track race on July 16-17 at Elmwood Park.

Over 1,900 of the top mountain bikers from around the country are participating in the event, including future Olympians.. Be part of the fun and experience why Virginia’s Blue Ridge is America’s East Coast Mountain Biking Capital!

Join residents and regional leaders from the 29-county Blue Ridge Parkway corridor on July 8-10 at Hotel Roanoke to discover new ideas, hear the latest updates and progress reports, learn about upcoming grant programs and other plans, and make new connections to continue advancing the Blue Ridge Rising Action Plan. Attendees will connect with people from all across the region, including representatives in tourism, economic development, outdoor recreation, planning, nonprofits, and the general public.
